Leading women into
wholehearted, authentic living.
Meet Kristen, MA, LPC
At KH Counseling, Kristen Hunsberger serves women in the greater Holland area of West Michigan, specializing in trauma, grief and loss, relationship conflicts, anxiety, depression, and significant life changes. Her passion is to journey with her clients as they pursue wholehearted living through healing and hope. Wholeheartedness means living the lives we actually have, and showing up as our full selves.
You are welcome here. You are not alone.
Healing means life...intentional living into the best version of you that you were always meant to be, and with that, joy.
If you are ready to start this journey towards wholeness,
I cannot wait to meet you. I am so glad that you are here.
You are already brave.

Rediscovering a Sense of Purpose

Yes, KH Counseling is currently accepting new clients, and I would be honored to have the privilege of journeying with you through the counseling process.

I do not see clients under the age of 18. However, I am happy to provide referrals to therapists that I trust and know to do great work with kids and teens. My expertise is with people over 18 years of age. I love working with both men and women, but specialize in working with women.
-
You do not need a referral to see me as your therapist. I can, however, work with your primary care physician or psychiatrist (with your consent) if you want coordinated care.
-
I do offer Telehealth! Most of my clients are in person, but I have a few that are Telehealth exclusively, and that works well for them. Some use Telehealth occasionally if they can't or don't want to drive in on a particular day. Telehealth does not work for everyone, but some people can do really well with it. If it works for you, it works for me. If you opt for Telehealth, I have a no-cost-to-you, HIPAA-protected platform we will use for our calls that is easy to log into and use.

I do not work with insurance companies for many reasons. Your privacy is a big part of that. Everything that we discuss in therapy, any diagnosis, progress, etc, stays between you and me, not a third-party insurance payer, and, thus no subsequent reporting to your medical record.
If you have insurance and want to use it, I am happy to make referrals to therapists I trust who take insurance. Alternatively, some of my clients have had luck getting reimbursement from their insurance for sessions with me as an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with a superbill if you want to pursue this option.
I can take credit, cash, check, and HSA cards.

Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. This allows ample time for your spot to be filled by another client who might need it. A detailed cancellation policy is provided to clients during registration.
